Budgeting Workshop: Personal Financial Management Course
Budgeting Workshop participants learn practical money-management skills that support better financial habits and stronger day-to-day decision-making. In this budgeting course, we teach the budgeting process step-by-step through interactive classroom sessions, real-world examples, and guided practice. As a result, participants build confidence, improve financial clarity, and develop tools they can use immediately at home and at work.

Budgeting Workshop Overview
Over the course of 6 weeks, this personal finance workshop covers the core budgeting steps, including income planning, expense tracking, goal setting, and adjusting a budget over time. Additionally, participants learn how to prioritize expenses, plan for irregular costs, and build sustainable routines that reduce financial stress. Because the sessions are hands-on, you will practice the budgeting process during class and leave with a clear structure you can repeat each month.
What You Will Learn
- How to build a realistic budget based on your income and fixed expenses
- How to track spending and identify patterns that affect your financial goals
- How to plan for savings, emergencies, and irregular expenses throughout the year
- How to adjust your budget over time while maintaining progress and motivation
- How to strengthen money-management habits using a repeatable weekly process
In this budgeting class, you will also learn practical ways to review your budget weekly, set realistic targets, and make small adjustments that add up over time. In addition, the money-management course emphasizes consistency so you can maintain progress even when expenses change.
Schedule and Location
These financial education sessions meet from 6:00–8:00pm on Thursdays at Milford High School, running from September 22 through October 27. To help participants stay on track, each week builds on the previous session. Therefore, we recommend attending all sessions to get the full benefit of the budgeting course structure and practice time.
